At the school outing on Wednesday, 11th of September 2019, we went near Tirukovillur. We saw a bunch of big rocks with paintings from 3500 BCE. We went to two places: on the first rocks, there were only two or three original paintings and we went to the second rock after crossing a cave. On the second rock, we saw only original paintings red or white. An archeologist explained to us about that place and showed us paintings: the sun, seven human figures, a man riding a horse, animals like snakes, horses.
We found that they used hands and animal’s tails to paint and also they did not use normal paint like we do now, but they mixed rocks, flowers and vegetable juices together to make their paint. Mostly they painted under the rocks so it doesn’t get wet in the rain. We came back to school at 7 o’clock.
