French International School Pondicherry

Enroll in the Lycée Français

The admissions process is designed to be simple and transparent. Before submitting the online application (see the next section), families are invited to learn more about the school by attending an Open House, visiting the campus with their child by appointment, or arranging an online meeting with a school representative.

For children aged 5 and over, a short baseline assessment will take place for level-appropriate registration. This test does NOT require knowledge of French.

For students already following the French programme, no test is required. However, they must send us their school reports for the last 3 terms and their teachers’ feedback. These students can join the school at any time during the year and will follow the French international programme as soon as they enrol.

In the case of students requiring special needs, parents must inform us.

Documents to be uploaded (Online application)

  • Copy of the previous year’s school report cards
  • Exeat: transfer certificate from the previous school
  • Copy of the livret de famille, for French nationals
  • Copy of the birth certificate, for Indian nationals
  • Aadhaar card or other form of identification, for Indian students
  • Copy of the passport and visa, for students of other nationalities

Admission procedure

First step

  • Contact Ms. CORNILLOT-APPAVOU Jade, Communication and school development Officer, via this e-mail address pro@lfpondichery.net or directly on the form on our site.
  • Information, visit: by appointment only.

Second step

  • Click on our link to complete the online registration form.
  • Send an email to Ms Jade CORNILLOT-APPAVOU (pro@lfpondichery.net) to obtain validation of your registration file on Eduka.
  • Important: you will not be able to submit your registration file until this validation has been completed. The application will remain pending for students who are required to take an entrance test.

Third Step

According to our admissions policy, two options apply:

  • An entrance test is not required:
    • For students coming from France or from a school within the AEFE network.
    • For students entering Petite Section (Pre-KG) and Moyenne Section (LKG).
  • An entrance test is required:
    • The completed entrance test application form, along with the required supporting documents, must be sent to Ms Jade CORNILLOT-APPAVOU (pro@lfpondichery.net).
    • Required documents for the entrance test:  1 – Your child’s school report cards from the previous year and/or the current year, & 2- An identity document in your child’s name (National Identity Card, Passport, Consular Card, Aadhaar Card, Birth Certificate, Family Record Book, etc.).

Fourth step

  • Meeting with the Primary School Principal, Ms Houlette, for enrolment in preschool and elementary school, or with the CPE, Mr Bienaimé, for enrolment in secondary school.
  • Two possible outcomes: 
    • a successful test: payment (see next section) and enrolment (if integration in the parlire class, see conditions);
    • an unsuccessful test: no enrolment.
  • Meeting with the Head of the Student Secretariat, Ms Dinagaran, to read and sign the rules and regulations of the school.
  • Payment of the registration fees (see next section) before the student’s enrolment.

School Fees

School fees are all-inclusive and there are no hidden fees. Most importantly, no donation is requested. The fee structure is transparent.

School fees include all activities mentioned in the timetable. Also, there are no costs related to uniforms as the school doesn’t have any. For kindergarten and primary school children, books and notebooks are also provided as part of the school fee.

Scholarship

For French nationals, scholarship application files accompanied by supporting documents must be submitted to the Consulate General of France in Pondicherry for students of the Lycée français international de Pondicherry.
