The 9th-grade students had the opportunity to participate in an educational trip as part of their art class, on the 17th of March 2025, visiting the Gangaikonda Cholapuram Temple, which dates back to the 11th century. This temple, built by the great king Rajendra Chola I, is located 80 km from Thanjavur, the former Chola capital, and is part of the “Great Living Chola Temples” circuit.
This moving visit allowed them to discover the grandeur of ancient Indian art. They had the chance to deepen their understanding of cosmology, mythology, iconography, the importance of vastu in architecture, and the materials used, such as granite and bronze.
It was a truly enriching experience that not only gave the students the joy of spending time with their friends, but also introduced them to a culturally rich site, a marvel of engineering, and a place of spiritual significance!
