Film adaptation The Outsider of Camus – Students of the 11th Grade, General Section

A word from the teacher :

He Lin, Ernestène and Thimothé have created a beautiful film adaptation of a key passage in Camus’s The Outsider. Here we are with them on the beach of Pondicherry, so familiar and suddenly strangely poetic: the hero’s solitary and fatal walk, the absurd and irreparable gesture, the waves, the sun, the sweat, the destiny that turns upside down…

Shivers down your spine! With very few resources, just a telephone and two accessories, it’s a real success! The subtle acting, cinematographic choices and powerful final editing make us truly feel Meursault’s words: “I realised that I had destroyed the balance of the day”.
