Theater Workshop with the BArDo Collective!

The 8th grade, section 1, students had the opportunity to take part in a two-hour theatre workshop led by actors Shivesh and Shafali from the BArDo collective, based on Shakespeare’s iconic play Romeo and Juliet.

What the workshop brought us:

  • Improving our command of the French language through diction work linked to embodying characters.
  • Taking away the fear of being in public.
  • Overcoming the shyness we felt toward one another, and eventually feeling completely at ease.
  • Boosting our energy.
  • Understanding that theatre is about embodying a character—not just repeating words.
  • Learning to cooperate better with others.
  • Visualizing scenes and characters.
  • Discovering ourselves, and feeling more like ourselves.
  • Connecting deeply with the characters.
  • Getting to know others better, and the emotions they feel.
  • Learning the fundamentals of theatrical interpretation.
